Kinyampanika Chimp Trail, New trails have been established to the summits of the Rwenzori Mountains, accompanied by several trekking packages that complement the old Ibanda central circuit trail in the Mubuku Valley. While trekking the Kyinyampanika Chimp Trail, one has the opportunity to engage with the Rwenzori region through the local community. There are numerous intriguing cultural, social, and nature-oriented activities available, such as day and overnight treks or hill excursions ascending to 2400 meters above sea level.

A clear day may afford a view of Margarita Peak. Additionally, a forest trail is established within a community natural forest reserve, where one may observe small fauna such as three-horned chameleons, various birds, reptiles, and occasionally monkeys and chimpanzees traversing from the park. You may also partake in a village walk, receiving guidance around local residential areas, accompanied by demonstrations to understand the indigenous lifestyle. You will observe basket weaving, storytelling, a traditional healer, a blacksmith crafting local equipment, and a farmer attending to his crops and livestock – it is an excellent opportunity to witness the local lifestyle and the transmission of cultural values.
